 | ZEVON ALBUMS RE-ISSUED... | The estate of Warren Zevon is re-issuing three of his albums, as well as a collection of unreleased and rare material, and his memoirs. The Envoy and Stand in the Fire - Live at the Roxy will both make their debuts on C-D next month. And Excitable Boy will be re-issued with bonus tracks and updated liner notes. Also on the way is Preludes - Rare and Unreleased Recordings, a two-disc set that contains six unreleased songs, including 'Empty Hearted Town,' 'Going All the Way,' and 'Steady Rain,' and previously unheard versions of 'Werewolves of London' and 'Accidentally Like a Martyr.' All the songs were recorded before his first album came out in 1976. The second disc contains 40 minutes of music interspersed with a Zevon interview. It will be in stores May 1st.
Also out on May 1st is the biography I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon. The story of Warren's life is told principally by his widow Crystal, and includes passages by Jackson Browne, David Crosby and Lindsey Buckingham. Browne says the book is, 'A harrowing ride through the backstreets of the L-A music business with the King of Song Noir. It reads like a rock and roll Rashomon, laying bare Zevon's unusual life and the outrageous times that produced some of the funniest, darkest, and most tender songs ever written.' Zevon died in 2003 from lung cancer.
